Dr. Darrah graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, then completed a full time year-long residency in Advanced General Dentistry at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He genuinely loves his job and is passionate about dentistry. He has extensive additional training in oral surgery, dental implants,  orthodontics (braces), and sleep medicine. 

While in the military, Dr. Darrah was awarded the 2021 LtJG Osborne award. This is awarded by the Bureau of Medicine & Surgery to one Navy Dentist each year.

He and his wife, Alana, have fallen in love with the Crystal Coast over the last 6 years and plan to stay here forever. They have 3 young kids, and are licensed foster parents in Carteret County. Alana owns a children’s bookstore in town called Hound & Hop Story Shop. This year they celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary.
